Real Python runs inside this page — change the code and press Run

Code you get by asking an AI for "a sales-by-store sheet with a colored header". Run it and you get a real .xlsx you can download and open in Excel.

Output

Press ▶ Run and the output appears here.

This demo runs Python in your browser. It downloads the runtime and any libraries the code needs; it does not upload your code. The demo covers calculations and creating Excel files. Working on files on your PC, desktop automation and scheduled runs need the Windows app.

What it does

Automate the work you repeat every month.

Write the script once (or let an AI write it). From then on it is one click. Your rules — exceptions and all — live in the script, so you reuse it next month.

Excel

Combine monthly Excel reports in one click

Open every workbook in a folder, combine the tables and write the monthly report. The copy-paste marathon becomes one script you run again next month.

Before: sales_north.xlsx / sales_south.xlsx / sales_west.xlsx …

After: monthly_report.xlsx (by region, with totals)

PowerPoint

One template, a deck per client

Fill a PowerPoint template from a spreadsheet and generate a deck for every client, branch or project. New numbers? Run it again.

Before: template.pptx + clients.xlsx

After: report_acme.pptx / report_brightline.pptx / …

Desktop automation

Data entry into apps with no API

A script enters each row of a spreadsheet into a desktop app and logs the result. It can target supported controls by name, or use mouse and keyboard actions — the clicking and typing someone did by hand.

Before: orders.xlsx + the order-entry screen

After: every row entered, results in entry_log.xlsx

Also: Rename and sort incoming files · Merge and split PDFs · Clean up CSV exports · Pull data from the web · Draw charts

Using it on your own work — three steps

  1. 1. Describe the task to an AI

Tell it where the files are, what to change, and where to save the results.

e.g. "Write Python that opens every Excel file in Documents\Sales, totals column B by store, and saves the table as summary.xlsx"

  2. 2. Paste it and test on copies

Paste the script into InsightPy and run it on copies of your files. No Python install, no pip, no PATH.

  3. 3. Check the results, then reuse or schedule

Once the output is right, save the script — next time it is one click, or it runs on a schedule by itself.

The app's Quick Start walks you through the same flow with sample data.

Screens

Write it, run it, schedule it.

All in one app. These are real, unedited screenshots — click to enlarge.

Step through code, line by line

Run one line at a time and inspect variable values as it goes. When something goes wrong, you can see where it went off.

Run on a schedule, unattended

Daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, every N minutes — or whenever a file lands in a watched folder. Windows runs it even when the app is closed (while you are signed in; not during sleep).

See which runs succeeded — and which need attention

Success rate, duration, consecutive failures. Manual and unattended runs share one history you can export to CSV.

Start from a sample that already works

28 bundled samples for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF, file handling and desktop automation. Read it, run it, make it yours.

Local execution, clear data handling

Built for everyday work.

FAQ

Questions, answered

I've never programmed. Can I use this?
Yes. The basic workflow is: describe what you want to an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar), paste the Python it writes into InsightPy, press Run. You can also start by editing one of the 28 bundled samples. If you want to learn Python, start with the 78 built-in lessons (English and Japanese) — they are part of the Free plan.
Do I need to install Python?
No. Python and the common libraries are bundled: openpyxl and xlsxwriter (Excel), python-docx (Word), python-pptx (PowerPoint), pypdf (PDF), pandas, numpy and matplotlib (data), requests, BeautifulSoup and lxml (web), pywinauto, pyautogui and selenium (desktop and browser automation), Pillow (images). Install the app and run.
What is free, and what needs a license?
The first 30 days: everything, for everyone. After that, personal learning and private use stay free (up to 10 saved scripts). A license is needed for use at work or in any organization, for unattended runs (schedules, folder watching), jobs and run history, the in-app AI features, and for saving more than 10 scripts. Personal is for individuals working independently; Business is required when the work is done for a company, school or other organization. See Pricing above.
Does the AI feature cost extra?
The in-app AI features (write code from a description, Ask AI) are part of the paid license and use your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. When you use them, your prompt and the relevant code are sent directly to that provider, which bills its own usage fees — we don't charge for AI. If you paste code from ChatGPT or Claude in your browser, you don't need the in-app AI feature at all.
Will scheduled scripts run when the app is closed?
Yes — Windows Task Scheduler runs them. The PC must be on and you must be signed in to Windows; nothing runs while the PC is asleep or shut down.
How far does the desktop automation go?
pywinauto is bundled, so scripts can target supported controls by name or role instead of screen coordinates, which makes them less dependent on window position than coordinate-based clicks. pyautogui (mouse and keyboard) and selenium (browser automation) are bundled too.
How is this different from drag-and-drop automation tools?
InsightPy automates with real Python. Branches, loops and error handling are just code, the logic is plain text your colleagues can read and reuse, and the Python you learn is a skill you keep.
What should IT check before rolling it out?
Network: Python runs locally. The app contacts our license server for activation and sends anonymous launch statistics; AI requests (if used) go directly to the provider you configure; your own scripts connect wherever they are written to. Details are in the privacy policy. Secrets: API keys and server details are stored as Assets, encrypted on the device, and injected at run time — not written into scripts. Unattended runs: require the PC to be on and signed in. Licensing: one license = one email + one device; volume and multi-product terms are available — contact us.
Which platforms does it run on?
The app is for Windows 10 and 11. The in-app lessons are available in English and Japanese. The browser-based lessons on this site are currently Japanese only.

Stop doing it by hand next month.

Ask an AI, paste, run. Every feature is free for 30 days.
